Collage

I began making digital collages during the COVID lockdown. A former technophobe, well, maybe still a bit of a technophobe, I photographed a vintage wooden eggcup shaped like a little girl on an old iPhone 7 and haven't really stopped since.
I create digital collages using photographs, clip art, and whatever odds and ends I can find, usually with free or outdated apps on an aging Mac that I hope keeps hanging on for a few more years.
The hours I spend creating collages are a way to move anxiety, process emotion, and make sense of the world. I am drawn to color, beauty, strangeness, humor, and unexpected juxtapositions.
Much like my poetry, my collage work explores the places where wonder and unease, tenderness and fracture, exist side by side.
